Unveil a radiant new look

At Dental Design Concepts, we take a holistic approach to porcelain dental veneers. Our team will do a thorough assessment of your facial features, jaw line and natural tooth shade. This allows us to design a treatment plan and custom veneers that are perfectly proportioned for your unique smile and overall appearance.

Our priority is creating a beautiful transformation that looks and feels natural. With a customized plan tailored specifically for you, we can help you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted.

Rejuvenate Your Smile

Porcelain veneers are laminate facings that are bonded to the front surface of teeth to improve the overall appearance of teeth. They are a metal-free, minimally invasive procedure to completely transform a person’s smile.

Porcelain veneers are often recommended for people who have teeth that are stained, chipped, cracked, unevenly spaced or misshapen. They may also be a good option if you have gaps between your teeth, if your teeth are worn down or have been damaged over time. People with teeth that are naturally crooked may also benefit from porcelain veneers to achieve a straighter, more aesthetically pleasing smile.

All veneers treatments at our Edmonton clinic will be completed by a Prosthodontist. As a specialist in dental prosthetics we do not do fillings, surgery, root canal treatment or orthodontics. Our mindset, clinical practice and time spent on continuing education is dedicated exclusively to prosthodontics. Prosthodontics is our passion.

All restorations are manufactured in our in-house dental laboratory. We limit the number of units completed in our laboratory to ensure that our dental technicians have the time and attention required to handcraft your porcelain veneers to the highest quality. It is our belief that detailed execution and customization can only be achieved in an environment with such intimate collaboration.

Frequently asked questions

HOW MANY VENEERS ARE RECOMMENDED?

The appropriate number of veneers depends on your expectations for improving your smile.  Typically, to achieve symmetry and to balance aesthetics, two, four, six, eight and even 10 veneers are done on the upper teeth.  It is also possible to place veneers on the lower teeth.  The greater the requirements in terms of color change or transformation, the more teeth that will need to be treated.  It also depends on the number of teeth that are revealed upon smiling and speaking.

WHAT MATERIALS ARE VENEERS MADE OUT OF?

Veneers are made out of porcelain. Porcelain best mimics the optical properties of teeth in terms of color, translucency, lustre and surface texture. Porcelain is a durable material being able to withstand temperature and pH changes in the mouth and regular chewing.

HOW LONG DO VENEERS LAST?

There are many variables affecting the longevity of veneers. Meticulous oral hygiene is required to prevent cavities around the veneers and to avoid gum disease or gum recession around the teeth. Bad habits such as teeth grinding and biting on hard substances like ice, metal or shells can cause chipping or fracturing of the veneers. The average lifespan of porcelain veneers is at least ten years with proper care and maintenance.

HOW MUCH TOOTH STRUCTURE NEEDS TO BE REMOVED?

The goal is to preserve as much tooth structure as possible so that the structural strength of the tooth is not compromised. Depending on the clinical situation, tooth reduction will typically range from 0 mm to less than 0.8 mm. Less removal is always prioritized to maintain as much natural tooth structure as possible for longevity.

IS IT TRUE THAT THEY EASILY DEBOND?

Porcelain veneers are very predictable if teeth are skillfully prepared and a meticulous bonding protocol followed. They should not debond.

HOW MUCH DO VENEERS COST?

Most patients are curious about the cost of veneers.  They require a significant financial investment.  A set of six veneers can cost around $13,000.  It is also worth noting that dental insurance rarely, if ever cover the cost of porcelain veneers.
