Dental Implants Edmonton

At Dental Design Concepts in Edmonton, we transform smiles with state-of-the-art dental implants that provide a permanent, natural-looking solution for missing teeth. Our experienced dental team uses advanced 3D imaging technology to precisely place a biocompatible titanium implant into your jawbone, creating a strong foundation that mimics your natural tooth root.

With our remarkable success rate and decades of combined expertise, we craft custom restorations that not only look indistinguishable from your natural teeth but also function perfectly for eating, speaking, and smiling with confidence.

Natural-looking tooth replacement option

Dental implants are a well-established and proven solution for replacing missing teeth. Made of biocompatible titanium, implants are surgically placed into the jawbone where they fuse with the bone over time. This integrated screw then serves as the foundation for an individual porcelain crown or multiple-tooth bridge. Implants look, feel and function just like natural teeth once the permanent restoration is attached.

2
Surgery
In some cases where bone has resorbed over time, additional bone volume may be required. A graft using donor bone or synthetic bone substitute is completed to augment the site and make it more suitable to place a dental implant. Specialized tools are used to gently insert the implant into the bone. The implants is allowed to heal independently for three to six months to allow the bone to integrate and bond directly to the implant surface through a process known as osseointegration.

3
Prosthetic Reconstruction
Once integrated, the healing screw is removed and an abutment placed. The final crown, bridge or denture is fabricated and secured to the abutment to complete the tooth replacement process.

Frequently asked questions

HOW LONG DO DENTAL IMPLANTS LAST?

When cared for properly, dental implants can function for 10-20+ years on average. Proper hygiene and
regular maintenance visits help ensure longevity.

WHAT MAINTENANCE IS INVOLVED?

Meticulous home care is required including brushing and flossing. Electric tooth brushes and water flossers are good aids in keeping the implants and surrounding gum tissue healthy. Routine check-ups are recommended to monitor for infections and bone levels around the implants.

WILL I LOOK LIKE I HAVE IMPLANTS?

The most difficult component cosmetically is to have the gum tissue look the same around the implant as
it does on the adjacent teeth. This will vary depending on the amount of bone and soft tissue available
and the position of the dental implant. A key factor on how natural an implant looks is related to treatment
planning and execution skills of the Prosthodontist.

CAN I EAT ANYTHING WITH IMPLANTS?

Once fully healed, implant allow enjoyment of all foods. Implants are strong and rigid. However, biting
too hard on hard objects or heavy clenching or grinding can cause the porcelain on the restoration to
fracture, the restoration to come loose or even the dental implant to fail. These are not common events
but are possibilities.
